Solidworks tip for exporting an STL.
You probably have a better workflow and hopefully pay better attention to the concordant system than I do. I was trying to export an .STL from a many hours long design to 3D Print. All geometry was based off of a a "sketch from image" import of a picture. I did my due diligence to scale the image, but didn't bother making sure it was at the origin when placed. Pretty dumb I know.
Probably ~6 hours in, I'm ready to print, and my exported file is physically huge and way too large for the print bed, because my drawing started WAY out in space. Move/Copy worked to move the finished body, but I couldn't move the initial sketch from image, without breaking pretty much ALL dependencies.
Turns out you can select the bodies you want to export. I've always just exported everything.
I'm aware that I could have tricked it to print by changing my print bed size in the slicer too, but I really didn't want to do that.
You can also creat a new coordinate system wherever you want in whatever orientation you want in S.W. Then export it in relation in export options to that CSO for import into slicer software. I do this sometimes to get the exact orientation of the part while printing if it’s not a simple flat surface or easy snap to surface in the slicer.
I think this would help if I understood your issue.
