Smash2.0 K5 resurrection

Is there a universe in which it makes sense to cut a stock windshield down/ in half and use that? I had a lexan windshield and it was never great…..

A regular piece of lexan or polycarbonate sheet is soft and scratches even with the lightest dust. Abrasion Resistant and MR10 have special coatings but it cost 300 to 400 percent more. I used regular ole Lexan and was super gentle, careful, kept it off the truck and stored away and it was like a scratched up welding lens shield in no time. One of the main purposes of my on board pressurized water system is to spray off the “ glass” if it’s dusty and dirty kinda like a mobile touch free car wash lol.

Added a gas strut and a limit strap. I made that limit strap 33 years ago for my last blazer and it’s great to incorporate it on this build.

Progress has been slow. Sinking around with some changes to the seat mounting and a couple other things. The seats now have 2” adjustable suspension bases meant for agricultural/forklift applications.
Adding some corner protection to the rear bumper and this is the start of it.
Didnt have a place for the license plate so I Frenched it into a new tailgate. I changed out the GMC one for a straighter Chevrolet one.
Got the third brake light modified with some LED panels and it lights up nicely now.
