The photography thread

I took this one a while back, early morning heading out of Crockett on my way to East Texas. It's a very old town in Texas and they preserve several of the old homes.

A few recent photos covering the gamet of lenses I typically use. All shot with an R5. Corn Snake at night in north FL (15-35 mm rf 2.8, f13, 1/60, ISO 200, flash). Queen caterpillar being photo bombed by some aphids (100mm rf macro, f13, 1/200, ISO 500, flash). Male Pileated Woodpeckers (100-400mm ef telephoto with 1.4x extender, f8, 1/800, ISO 200).

Went to a summit/airshow thing, wasn't huge by any means, but got to see some old warbirds and some of the new and upcoming tech.

Was trying to spot the comet from my property. It was low in the sky and the trees were blocking it I think. Spent 20 min watching the satellites with my good binoculars, and took some iPhone pics of the sky. My wife gives me **** for always getting the new iPhone. I do it for the camera. It's amazing the quality of night pics it takes.

My attempt at capturing comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) last Thursday on the salt marsh of west central Florida. The comet was not really visible to the naked eye. Canon R5, 15-35mn RF 2.8 lens. Settings were 35mm, f3.2, ISO 1600, 15 second exposure. Post-processed in DXO Photolab to clean up the noise and remove the plane and satellite trails.
