Good question. The double locking latch captures the stud inside of it and when the mount is finished there will be a secondary capture to the bar for emergencies. I’m not going to claim that the bar won’t intrude into the passenger compartment, however it will take an extreme incident and the perfect shape of rock to have that happen. On a long enough timeline all instances are possible, such is the law of averages.I have a question on the door bars & I'm not any kind of expert. With one end of the door bar being loose (latch end) doesn’t that make it dangerous in an accident. I’m imagining a T bone type scenario where the bar is pushed into the occupant right next to it. Or a hard roll where the bar comes in contact with a rock or tree. I have hip bars in my cage for this reason and feel comfortable with their design since they are welded at either end. Perhaps my confidence is misplaced…
Like I said, I’m not an expert and not throwing shame. I’m just trying to wrap my head around the safety aspect. Additionally, I have a project in the wings that will need a cage designed for it.
It’s all in the design of the removable floor sections. In the event that a driveshaft is compromised on the trail the need to access the driveline bolts at the transfer case can be made from above. The skidplate is huge and I want to leave it in place. The rear bolts are under the small triangular floor plate. The removable floor sections are even large enough to pull the transfer case up through if needed, you never know. The cradle is a great idea.
It’s a 1970 Sterling fiberglass kit car body on a 1968 bug chassis. The is body serial number is 006. They made these in Oakland Calif. I’m making it into a legitimate car for a customer instead of a cobbled piece of crap. What do we have going on here?

It’s a 90 but someone swapped in a 96 Tahoe motor and trans as well as the wire harness and computer and dash. It has a 96 interior basically. It’s kinda dirty and beat up so gonna clean it up and do some detail work to the SAS and maybe daily drive it.Cool extended cab chevy. What are your plans for it?
