It’s mostly bad around the bottom of the base. Considering the condition of the mill, the paint makes it look much rougher than it actually is. It’s a pretty tight unit with scrape marks on the waysI like the patina look on my lathe and mill personally. The paint on that looks to be in pretty good shape honestly.

Nope, this one hasn’t had the use most all the rest of them had due to the servo motors on it that the controller is missing for. So I think it got passed up for use in classes as it’s not easy to move the x manually because you’re turning the servo motor over same time.Looks like it has never fallen over onto its back![]()

Yeah, I looked at the other ones there to see how the tail end of the screws were supported. They all had nothing just the end of the screw hanging out there (protected in the housing of course) the servos are full time pinned to the screws via a collar. Easy enough to remove them off of the lathe. I’m going to figure out what they are or what mfger made them to find out if they’re good for a CNC plasma table setupAre the servos coupled to the screws full time or are there disconnects? Can the servos just be removed or are the integral to the screw supports and/or preload?
Wish you woulda picked it up last week so you could have checked out the other 3 that closed over the weekend. I was watching them but really don't have the time or energy to run up there to move and load one. The last e-mails I got for them on my watch list, it looked like they were staying right at the $2k opening bid. I can't see them now to check if they even got bids/sold.

Those lathes you were looking at did not sell again (third time they were listed before) they are delisted now again. I know one is missing a chuck and one that was close to mine had a dro on it. Beyond that I don’t know their mechanical condition. You can test run one there if you can drive there to inspect them or have someone close by there.
They are going to list up around four or five jet lathes once these finish selling off. But one of the maintenance guys there said they were all problem child lathes always needing repaired. So I’d stay away from them. They looked heavily used too.
Hope that helps you. These leblonds are solid machines and have a crazy resale value up into $6,000~$7,000 plus range. These lathes don’t get run like a job shop or machine shop

I think the remaining lathes there are a great deal considering these run around $6~7k resale. I ran mine and it was quiet and smooth running.Having to load yourself is the main reason those aren't selling. 90% of the stuff that sells on govdeals has the "buyer must load" language in it, but if you talk to the actual people on the ground ahead of time, they'll usually tell you that they'll load for you. The horizontal K&T I picked up a couple months ago was like that.....except they made me run the forklift. :lauging:
If would load them, I'd probably pick one or two up, but as they sit, the logistics kills it. That and I'm really holding out of find one of those or a Servoshift that that has a 2.5" or bigger through hole. I wish Duc would have sold me his. Seems like they're unicorns because I haven't seen another one in many years.
I'll have to watch for the jets too. I kind of want a 1440 Jet or similar Taiwanese machine just because they tend to have higher spindle speeds compared to the older iron.
I've only had to load myself one time and it was 3 big zero turn lawnmowers and and absolute pain in the ****. I had to rent a mini skid on the way there or I never would have pulled it off. The dude at the yard was a just a complete **** about it....could have easily sent one of his 3 forklifts over for 10 minutes and knocked it out for me, but told me I was on my own.![]()
Why do you have so many machines in overlapping sizes?
I have a nice Bridgeport in recently bought a couple three months ago and just sold my old one.**** yeah. Customer service on setup is key. I have an American rotary brand one, but similar experience with service. As long as the company supports you, they're worth buying from again.
What are you wiring up to it?
