Youth 1000 Race Car

I get my Brisk plugs and other parts from UTV race shop too. They are good people over there. :smokin:

My hood wouldn't stay on either. I ended up putting a zip tie on each front corner and now it doesn't try to peel itself off at high speeds.

The Ultra4 race in Sturgis, SD was awesome! It rained every day and made things interesting.

We arrived at the track unloaded, setup and got the car teched in.

The next day was pre-running and qualifying. During pre-running we got some good course notes and then prepped the car for qualifying. We started off qualifying with no issues till we landed the second jump and the car went into limp mode. We put the car in park, turned it off, restarted it, it came out of limp mode and we took off. Everything was working normal till the rock section. When we hit the rocks some it went into limp mode again. We restarted the car and again it came out of limp mode and we took off. We finished the qualifying course with no further issues and headed back to work on the car. I ended up finding the positive battery cable was very loose. We added some loctite, tightened them up and tested the car and didn't have any further issues. We then prepped the car for the main race the next day.

The main race was 5 laps on the 6 mile course. The track conditions were muddy and slick. We started in the back with 4 other Youth 1000 cars. 3, 2, 1, go! We ran a clean race and ended up passing 1st and 2nd place when they broke putting us in second place on lap 3. Hunter kept a good pace and crossed the finish line in 2nd place at the 2025 Ultra4 Black Hills Throwdown.

The 2025 Vegas to Reno Youth 1000 Race was awesome!

We got the car through tech inspection on Thursday with no issues. Later that evening was the drivers meeting. After the drivers meeting (when it wasn't 100 degrees) we prepped the car for the race the next day.

Friday morning we checked out of the hotel and headed to the start line staging area in the town of Crystal. We got the car out of the trailer, loaded it up with cold water bottles and headed to the start line. We got the green light at 1:49 and we were off for the Youth 1000 race. This race was 71.5 miles to pit2. Hunter ran a great race with no issues. We raced through sand, silt, rocks, whoops, g-outs, broken race cars, burned up UTVs and everything else you find at a desert race.

At 4:00 we came into the pit 2 speed zone at 25 mph and got the checkered flag. Overall it was a great time and an awesome experience. I will have some professional photos to post soon.

you said he took the checkered flag. Did he win his class or did you just mean he finished? Either way that is awesome.

Nice dude, didn't know you were there. I was sitting next to JR4X for the dinner festivities. Congrats on little man winning.
Pitbullcruiser usually races 4600 with me in his Toyota.

It’s weird but Miles always makes a big deal on the live feed of me running a manual trans but Pitbullcruiser and the other Toyota guys also only have manual transmissions.

Yea, I am taking some time off from racing the Toyota. I spent this season co-driving the Youth 1000 car and co-driving for my buddy Josh in the #1313 4800 car.
