Smash2.0 K5 resurrection

I do the same, not much more effort in the first place. No loose nuts or washer to loose, like OEM. Standardize on a few sizes and use same head style for minimal tools needed.

And I seem to weld all the unused holes shut.
7/16 wrench seems to be my go to for all the little things. I agree on welding up all the holes, they just bug me that they’re there. I also put together a specialized tool bag for my trucks. No sense in hauling around 50lbs of tools I won’t need.

Heater hose routing along the frame and the firewall pass through. The heater hoses are ones I just walked into the back of o-Riellys and chose of the wall. I record the numbers in a service book so that a replacement is not difficult.

I prefer the truck style out of the 3 but I'm sure whatever you do will look nice.

Yeah I’m liking the truck look as well. The blazer only has two seats and I’m not putting in a back one so…. Using all that tube to make a family cage that won’t have no family is hmmmmm.

Front bumper preliminary design. Got the street wheels out of the boxes and started painting them up. 20x12 with 3.75 backspacing. Tires are Goodyear MVT 395/85/20 (46” tall 16” wide) back and inner shell have 2 coats of Rustoleum oil base brushed on and the face is primed and will spray with a Rustoleum Hammered grey Hammered grey/silver.

Different perspective of the windshield bar and my pivoting door bar. The pivot is one of those recovery shackle mounts and some Delrin bushings I made. Still need to figure out the latch and maybe put a little bend in it. A small gas strut to keep it up. It’s just a bar to help keep the arm inside the tide at all times lol.
