Official wheelin’ trip pics thread

Thanks It was the van from Dirt Every Day. A guy around her owns it now, and it didnt have a good day. He unloaded it from the trailer and it broke the sector shaft off the steering box driving across the lawn (where I took the pic) . Took the day to repair it so they were ready for the next property today.

Sounds like a damn nice spot to break down

In all my time on a trail the only vehicle I’ve ever come across that didn’t have someone actively trying to fix it was a stock dodge pickup stuck in a massive rut. Judging by where it was and the condition of the truck it was most likely stolen.

I've come across a few broken or stuck vehicles left on trails. Last time was a old Subaru wagon high centered with all four wheels off the ground in a very remote area of Anza-Borrego State Park. About a mile up the trail I came across the owner. Took him back to his car and pulled him out. He said the last time he drove through there it was smooth and with the hill being so steep and long he was committed before he saw the washouts.

We were camped at Truckhaven and a couple of drunks got their Toyota stuck on its side in a ditch about 200 yards from our camp. We listened to them drunkenly argue about what to do for a bit, then they walked away. We sat around the fire for a few more hours, then decided to see how bad it was. It took a pull of about 15' before it was out of the ditch on flat ground. They made it easier by leaving the keys in it. In the morning they came back with some more Toyota ***s. We could hear them giving the drunks a bunch of **** for being so drunk they thought they were stuck.

Did the southern portion of the Utah Backcountry Discovery route with my father, his buddy, and his buddies son. I was planning on taking my new Jeep, but didn't quite finish with the Rubicon conversion in time despite my best efforts. I jumped in the old faithful Bronco II at the last minute (didn't even check the oil, coolant, or tire pressure) and drove it 1,100 miles, ~350 of which were dirt. Other than general discomfort, it was a champ! Nothing hardcore, but Lockhart Basin definitely required four wheel drive.

Jungle Summer Bash was this past weekend in Bethel Vermont. Record number of rigs showed up, and surprisingly, woods traffic flowed pretty well all day!

I took a bunch of pictures that didnt end up looking like much, but this was the highlight for me. The quiet guy in our group let loose in the halfpipe.

I gave it a go, but pretty much just floundered in there. Ive made it before, but not today.

This little sammy was rad, on 35 sxs stickys. The guy was able to get it registered as a "homemade" sxs so he can drive it on the atv trails.

And nothing like pulling the seatbelt across your chest to find a active hornets nest being built on it.

Finally got my junk out. Local group puts on a few events a year on private property in Bobcaygeon, ON. ****show :flipoff: Offroad is the group.

Drove it roughly 400 km there towing the popup and 400km home. The steering box is a li'l ****y doesn't feel like the sector shaft is centered or the input needs to be tightened. Other than that I didn't drive into another Jersey barrier so chalked that up as a win.

I remember hearing of that place ages ago but hearing it was all pretty easy. Is it worth checking out with a buggy if passing through?

If you are driving 3+ hours no, if you are passing through or close by, absolutely. It’s not hard, but definitely a fun day trip and there is a national forest campground right next to the trailhead.

Buggy would be boring, something full bodied and on 37s it's fun. I enjoy the trips I have went there, "nice day in the woods" type place.

I also broke a driveshaft in one of the rock sections

I nearly drive right past heading to/from GER on 64 by Covington IIRC. It's not close to me by any means.

Checks phone, didn't see an invite:flipoff2:
Check again. :flipoff2:

That Power Wagon is bitchin' :smokin:

Are those 43"s?
Yes, 43 dots. He trailered it to see what the weak link was. I posted the video in the carnage thread. It gets 8 mpg and it’s stock outside of the lift. I bet it works great out west, but he had to trip a few trees to clear the windshield.
