Official wheelin’ trip pics thread

Went to smorr for the first time 3 weeks ago. I can't wait to go back.
What was your favorite trail?

We did Rocker Knocker, Rocky Road, Rattler, Log Jam, and some others I can't remember.

I think I liked Log Jam the best.

Edit, also Guard Rail. There was a steep ledge that dropped off into a 90* right hand turn immediately after. If you missed the turn you dropped off the side of the mountain right away. I hooked a strap to my buddy behind me and he let me down easy so I didn't end up endoing off the mountain.

Some pics from the shakedown run in the TJ. First time seriously wheeling in like 6 years, first time towing the jeep behind the bus, etc.

last pic is Gemini Bridges road.. correct?

I wish I lived close enough I could do a long weekend trip to Moab. It's 1k miles one way for us so gotta go for a week to make the drive worth it.

Yep. Got done early on Tuesday, so took a drive to Dead Horse Point, and then Gemini Bridges road back to Moab.
1k is a haul. It’s only 5 hours for me, but I don’t make the trip over like I used to. Only went once last year.

Are the locals a lot more hostile to offroaders than they used to be? Town used to literally bankroll itself with all the 4x4 tourists, but I've heard/read of a lot of closures by BLM and that the townspeople demographics have changed and they are a lot less friendly to wheelers and more interested in the 'green' sports like rafting/kayaking and biking. I haven't been since 2012, IIRC.

Town is definitely divided on the OHV thing. I think the worst thing for the offroaders was the SXS crowd running thru town at all hours with lights, stereos and loud exhaust in the neighborhoods. Locals and VRBO/AB&B residents would be trying to relax or sleep and knuckleheads would race stop light to stop light.

I never had any issues in town when we have been there but we always trailered since we aren't street legal.

They never seemed to raise a fuss over the noise from the Harley crowd running thru downtown with the open pipes and stereos blasting though.

SXS’s are TERRIBLE for the offroad community. Every **** bag can finance it, use once and destroy everything.

When we were in Moab we came a cross a group of Mexicans who rented SXS’s and they were tearing up areas you weren’t even supposed to be in.

I also heard from people we know in WV, and they tried taking their Can Ams down a 50” trail. They pinned themselves in between trees, tore up the trees and the surrounding area.

This is why BRC has to fight so hard to keep stuff open. ****ty people doing ****ty things. They’re just an irritating group.

Moab bronco safari is no longer in moab. Buddy who's been attending it for years is pissed but people just suck...graffiti on the rocks or in nature deserves a good ass whooping. Leave that sit in the inner city.

It rained the whole time we were there so didn't get as much riding in as we had hoped to. True Grit was fun and so was puppy licker. Adventure hill and larry's hill were a good time as well. It was crazy how much grip the rocks had with several inches of water running over them.

It seemed like the wet rocks had more grip than the dry. That's a big change from wheeling around me where it's 70% mud and 30% rocks that are covered in mud.

We looped up to the left. Couldn't tell if it went straight up the mountain or not. (we were heading back to load up when we found this so we didn't bother to hike it)
Did you happen to go on the George winter trail? It's up on the ridge to your left in that pic.

Another uwharrie in the books, best part about the trip was bone stock samurai beat down.
