Race truck 4653

On lap 2 we lost visibility in the dust, hit another racer, ripped/ broke all the steering lines, brake master lines, pushed the radiator into the engine pulleys and damaged the ignition coil. Full race recap coming soon.

Sorry man 😢. Was that right where we came out of the wash onto the sweeping corner of the lake bed where the silt was 6 inches deep for a couple hundred yards?

Thats racing lol. It was in the section right before the hill climb around race mile 19.

KOH 2025 was another great race this year. We started the week by moving into the garage space, picking up the course map and getting ready for prerunning. I was able to grab my Ipad and prerun the desert lap in the passenger seat of a 4800 car and take some notes. We took the race truck and ran a good amount of the rock trails, gently flopped on Sledge Hammer and got some good course notes. We went through tech/ contingency with no issues and started prepping the truck for the EMC race in the morning. Race Day! We got lined up, worked our way to the start line and we were off! We passed about 5 cars and started working our way into the desert lap. No real issues on lap 1 except for the hood pins breaking off. We stopped at main pit, refueled the truck, took the hood off and headed out for Lap 2, which was another full desert lap and the rock trails. We were cruising through the desert keeping pace with 4663 with the intention of teaming up in the rocks and getting through in a timely manner. I lost visibility in the dust, 4663 slowed down in front of me, I didn't check up, dust clears, I see chase lights in front of us real close, I locked up the brake, swerved to try and avoid him and clipped the front left of the truck. The hit took out the hoses on the steering box, broke the PS reservoir fittings, broke the brake lines at the master cylinder, unplugged the distributor wires, pushed the radiator into the engine pulleys and bent the bumper. 4663 was good and after checking on us he continued to race. We hung out at the truck until the TrailMater crew came out and recovered us back to camp. I started the truck up back at camp, limped it into the trailer and called it a night. Overall it was another great race with great people! Big thanks to Arickvan for another year of helping in the pits and it's always cool to see Austin on the Lakebed.

man that was heartbreaking when we found out you were done, and then the other car we were pitting for basically didnt move for 2 hours so the mood in the remote pit was pretty grim

but it's always a good time and this year we actually got to catch a glimpse of you guys at race pace from the pit :smokin:

Oh damn! When I mentioned your hood flopping around and you were telling me about the damage I had a totally diffrent picture in my head. I couldn't picture all that damage from what I saw and you probably thought I was hammered (more like a slight buzz) talking about what I was picturing :lmao:

I did catch you coming around backdoor, I threw on my vest and hopped the fence to grab pics but only had my cell phone on me....
