Rebuilding three 8274's
1. Friends 8274-50
Someone had this one apart before, was missing the seal behind the brake assembly and plate that holds the gears and drum in place was all deformed. Looked like someone tried pull the drum before removing plate.
Resealed the case, rebuilt the brake assembly and I will be retrofitting an Albright contactor onto it.

2. An OG 8274 that I had picked up at an auction a few years ago.
I was going to upgrade the motor and reseal. But after teardown this one might be in the best shape of the three.
Thinking about keeping the original motor (keyed not splined) and just clean it up and reseal.
I will retrofit an Albright contactor to make it more dependable.

3. 8274-50 off of my jeep
This one I had replaced the motor with a 6hp motor and had an Albright contactor on it. Did this years ago, basically it is an 8274-70 (10,000 rating)
The bottom case is broke where the pawl mounts, so I bought a new lower case, I had a new upper case. So I bought a new end support also.
This one will basically be a new 8274-70 when done.

I'll add more pics later as I proceed.
#2&3 will be for sale when done.

Last weekend I finish with the older 8274. Completely disassembled, cleaned and painted the case. The brake assembly and motor looked great so I just cleaned them up and assembled the winch. I retro fitted a new Albright Contactor to this one also. Really livened up the winch with the new contactor.

This weekend I finished with my winch.
A few years back I swapped out the motor for one from a 9.5xp winch, 6hp and I had an Albright Contactor mount off to the side.
I plan on selling this, so I wanted to clean it up a bit. Between the 3 winches that I was working on, one needed a new top case and another needed a new end piece. This one needed a new bottom case as I broke the brake pawl mount.
So I used all the new case parts for this winch. I installed the proper Albright from Warn (102339) for this one.
Cleaned it up, rebuilt the brake assembly and replaced all the seals.
I put WARN 102558 Spydura Nightline Reflective Synthetic Winch Cable Rope with Swivel Hook End: 3/8" Diameter x 100' Length on it and a generic fairlead.

This is now a near new 8274-70 10,000lb winch.
