An Idiots guide to House Repair

How many times have you spanked it to that wallpaper? Once on my end:grinpimp:

:barf:

Got the rest of the master bed carpet torn up. I’ll be shoveling it for the rest of the evening…

Also applied a matte coat of hammer to the kitchen walls. Turns out that one of them “might” be load bearing. So now I need to call in some flavors.

Elechicken buddy just left. I’m just going to pay him to go into the attic and wire the new cam lights and some other stuff. My fatass doesn’t fit in a 4’ attic. :homer:

Also started applying the clear coat to the master bathroom wall too. This wall will be moving 4’.

Also I like how there's blocking just attached to the drywall like that's supposed to do something.
:lmao: Totally.

(Because I have no idea what you’re talking about)

Side note, I found some black mold in-between the layers of the shower… I guess I’ll be in tyvex for tomorrow.

Blue, pink carpet and floor to ceiling wallpaper for the win! Old people 🙄

When we’re all 80-90 yo is this gonna be our taste?

I have no idea.

I’m thinking about doing an accent wall dark blue in the master, but that’s about it.

The graffiti paint showed up today. :smokin:

I found a man in muck boots in the attic. I told him to get to work or leave and he left. Good news is none of the interior walls are load bearing.

more demo. I’m glad I’m not living/cooking here. Too much dust.

Note. When demoing drywall. Find a stud close to where you want to stop demoing. Score it with a razor, then use a sawzall to cut on the inside of the 2x4 as a guide. Then proceed to tear out at breakneck speed. Drywall is dense and will flex/crack if it’s not cut. :homer:

If anyone has some input on how to Layout a master bath. Please chime in. I’m thinking about swapping the ****ter and shower and putting a half wall in between them. Then put the sink on the right side of the wall.

To maximize space, just get you a prison toilet so then it's a sink and toilet combo (but you have to paint it that same baller blue shown in the pictures). :lmao:

Only takes a day if you aren't careful (or have a herd of messicans working in the background)!
So you’re saying I need to hire people? How does one go about doing that?

Forgot to do my timesheet last week so I went to work and layed out the new bathroom in cad, got some ideas about the kitchen too. Off to E’s Low to price more ****

Good to hear, I had to pick up some tools at my brothers, and the shop vac was one of them.

Apparently, what I thought was the subfloor was not the subfloor. There’s more to cut up this evening. Some dude must have just gotten an air nailer back in the day. I think I pulled up 200 nails in a 10sf area.

I’ve got to take the obvious truck tomorrow so I’m gonna have to pay.

Also, I got the paint colors finalized today, and got the power lines in the kitchen cut and out of the way. I’ll start drywall on the kitchen ceiling in the morning. And then I can start building the island. ADHD is a birch :flipoff2:

I used one of these to get the popcorn off my ceilings
One of those would work really well for removing carpet too.

I had a friend with some house knowledge stop by to tell me how I was doing it wrong. He removed an entire sheet of drywall and it didn’t break apart. I was speechless. The plumber said he’d stop by tomorrow to see about swapping some stuff around.

FWIW, it worked better taking popcorn off than scraping floors , ironically it is a floor scraper , Also for the non painted popcorn, a squirt bottle of water will soften up the texture, and it will drop like it is freshly squozed toothpaste:grinpimp:

Snuck another load to the dump this morning, but it was time to take the larger stuff I didn’t want to break up.

Any guesses for how much it weighs? Benny got a nice care package on the last one!

I have scraped popcorn in 3 bedrooms and a hallway. I use a garden sprayer full of warm water and soak it until it's almost dripping and it just scrapes off. The painted popcorn needs to be wetted, scrape off the high spots to get penetration, wetted again, let sit for 5 minutes, wet again and then scraped. I did all the scraping with a 12" taping knife standing on a work platform.

Randomly grabbed onto this old pvc and the entire stick is split in half. So I’m on the 3rd trip to the supply house.

I’m having to add a behind the wall vent to help the sink/toilet work better. Supposedly.

Whenever I do house stuff again, I’m gonna get a helper. Someone to clean or run to the store for me. That alone would save me about 8 hours so far this week

but has the cashier at the hardware store just give her number to you, you know so you can chat her up a little easier?
That is when this while project comes together

Funny story, a coworkers ex is now the head cashier at e’s Low. She’s gotten me 2 20% off discounts, I went back and bought more paint and stuff :lmao:

Need to find one less crazy
