My KRX Chronicles

In true SxS fashion I can’t leave anything alone. I am tweaking the seating position a tad. I wanted to sit farther back so my knees quit bothering me but then that leaves my arms stretched way out. Not terrible just annoying.

I ordered the Full access adapter and a bitchin drifter NRG steering wheel off of the jungle site. 3.5”dish plus the adapter and it’s feels a lot better in the ****pit.

Thanks for this info. I’ve been very tempted to do this. Agree that the steering wheel is too far forward, and I’m not that tall. Any downsides yet? I have the Click 6 harnesses, so I’m not as far back anyway as some people. I need to do some measuring.

no downfall yet. If you need any dims let me know.

Well this escalated quickly.
I wanted to get the Ryco wiring installed and figured it would be a good time to insulate the rad piping in the tunnel. So i pulled a bunch of plastic out.
I am trying a layer of header wrap on the pipe and hose, then the fiberglass/foil velcro wrap over that. I also got some self adhesive sound deadening/insulation from Summit to put on the tunnel plastic.

Finally wiring up the little light bar on the bumper too.

While im in there I may put some of the sticky **** on the firewall behind the seats.

I did put some chinesium winch rope on as well.

YJ4Rox taking it all apart! Will be curious how the heat shield stuff works out for you temp wise. Really need to add it to our 09' Teryx as the center console can be brutal.

The ryco kit is pretty nice. I just did the three led set up for front signals instead of the “fangs”.
Everything is clearly marked and color coded. Good directions and overall a simple set up. This singal/horn/hazard stalk is beefy.

Buttoned up the header wrap and sleeves on the coolant lines.

At one point folks were co concerned that one cylinder could run lean on the krx, is that still a thing?
Does the aftermarket rollover valve play anything into that?

I’ve wondered that a lot. It seems hit or miss. Some people blow up the KRX multiple times and there’s also guys out there with a ton of miles on stock machines. I haven’t drank the Kool aid yet on the aftermarket fuel rail yet. I’d love to eventually add a wideband to each cylinder and gather some data on it. Maybe once I start playing with tuning.

I have a billet fuel rail laying on the bench I just havent been motivated enough to install it. The roll over valve definitely relieved the tank pressure.
The first time I filled up the gas cap literally blew out of my hand from the tank pressure.

When I asked my dealer about the burning a cylinder they said they had only seen a couple. It really does seem random.

FWIW I helped my brother in law install the billet fuel rail and roll over valve and neither is extremely difficult. Takes longer to get the bed out of the way than it does to actually swap the rail, just make sure and grease the new rail with a little dialectric grease or something... he nipped the injector o-ring on his first attempt.

Well I havent updated this in a long time.

We still love the KRX and use it often. Getting close to 1k miles and currently shopping for tires as the carnivores are about shot. I still cant decide between 33's and 35's as the cost is essentially the same. I am thinking about the 35 SuperATV incursion A/T or maybe the 33" System 3 RC500. There are just so many tire options its ridiculous.

I did pick up a tablet mount and tablet for navigation.

I put some automotive style dash vents in the footwells to get some air flow down there. When ambient is north of 90 my feet get hot. Vents helped some but not as much as I had hoped.

Waiting on my PV3 tuner and badass belt to ship.

I did get the WV SPV tag for it so we take it to dinner every now and then. Its nice WV finally made them legal. There are usually a few SXS at the local mexican joint.

I run 33" bfg ko2s for normal trail riding and swap on the 35" zillas for rock crawling FWIW.

I will take the buggy on 43's for real crawling so the KRX will just need good all around trail tires.
I am leaning toward 33's for less weight.

Less weight and less stress on other components is a logical approach for sure.

I'm also on the fence with 33s or 35s. It seems like 35s open a whole can of worms with clutching and driveline issues. especially if you actually ride the damn thing and not just poke around back roads. This reminds me that I need to get my **** together for my SPV tag. I've got the parts laying in a box in the corner of the shop.

I agree and I dont think thats a can of worms I want to deal with for this machine.

SPV process was super easy at my local DMV. Application, proof of insurance and 10 minutes I was walking out with a 2 year tag.

Vent pics. I just used a knock out to punch a clean hole.

^^^^ Those look pretty good. Bummer that you did not feel a big difference.

I had thought about making a removable panel for the lower / rear section of the door. Many other sxs are open there and they get better airflow. And if done right, the hole would be easily closed in the colder season.

I have been looking at a door mod as well. A nice perf plate panel for summer and a solid insert for winter.

Link for the vents? That seems like the best solution for cab heat. I just watched a video about the new RZR and they have air ducts built into the front for interior vents.

The Carnivores are about gone after 1000 miles? I was hoping to get decent amount of miles out of them. I've got about 500 on mine. I've lost your number, shoot me a DM so we can get together on some rides. I've got a buddy I ride with that lives off Manilla Ridge. We leave from there and get over in Jackson and Roane counties.

I did cut the back side of those vents down to the first thread so they are the .79" thickness.

The rears are well under 1/2 tread at this point.

plenty to ride out this way. I will shoot you a DM.
