Build MNR 4600 class 2021 U4 Bronco

One of my racing buddy's installed an oil cooler on his SxS over the winter and used push lock hose to plumb it. 3 laps into his first race in a brand new car one of the oil cooler hose ends came apart spraying oil on the header and his car burnt to the ground. Saving $100 on fittings/hose cost him about $30k in collateral damage.......

Pushlock. 300# rated at what? Air? This little bronco makes over 100 psi engine oil pressure. First 30 minutes at KOH I blew a push lock hose on the remote oil filter. Scared the **** out of me because I could have killed the engine just that fast. 120 psi oil pressure blew the hose off when it’s supposed to be good for 300.

Now I know.

Edit: didn’t even go with push lock to save money. Just thought that was the correct part for the job. All the high pressure stuff is high dollar crimped custom hoses.

Same, I thought they were correct for the application. Field serviceable A/N aren't even really any more money and the hose is the same price.

I wonder how much a hose clamp would do to rectify that.

Obviously not any cost savings there but if it's the difference between popping off and a slow leak...

I have clamped one in a pinch before. You need a clamp narrow enough to fit between the ridges. If you clamp on the ridges they will cut the hose. Even with the narrow clamp the first ridge will still cut the hose eventually.

Damn. That’s how you know you’ve made it.

:edit:

The RC car. Not the skin suit. :lmao:

That's cool and creepy at the same time.

He's probably having a hard time sourcing a scale yeti to shave.
:lmao:

I do look like a hairless Harry and the Henderson Sasquatch. Complete with Five head and Neanderthal eyebrow. :lmao: Me standing next to a normal sized human

As a man who also has a pretty long forehead I too understand the importance of hats.
I am trying to find a sealable plastic tub that is the right size to fit inside the doors to keep hats clean so if we get on the podium I don’t stand there feeling naked. At KOH we had our hats but Oklahoma we knew everything was getting douched

One of the old school Tupperwares or a Cool Whip container with hats and snacks should do the trick.

Zip lock freezer bag.

Absolutely this^. Cheap & effective. I use quart bags for vehicle reg. / insurance, gallon for mid-size stuff, and 2 or 2.5 gal. for documents and maps - keeps 'em dry and dust-free. Squeeze the air out when closing so they can't pop open when compressed.

With all the bouncing and jumping I’m concerned about not being able to find them at the end if they are in a bag and able to bounce around. Unfounded fear?

My (maybe dumb) idea is to get like a cereal tub with a hinged latching lid to stuff them in. Bolt the tub inside the door so I can grab them when I get out.
