Ride, and the couple club events I did attend, was a riding from bar to bar, in large numbers, two up side by side in lanes, with people I know are drinking. yeah, wasn't cool with it. OK i think i've answered my own question, gut was going with not joining anyway, but y'all have all basically reiterated the issues I felt like I'd have with it.

Iron Butt Association? I'd call them a riding group, not an MC. No local chapters, no pres/VP etc... hierarchy like a club or organization.
