I'm going to shave the SD D60 I'm putting in my Jeep XJ. I can either just shave the case and leave the ring gear as-is, or I can grind/machine the ring gear (like is done on a 14 bolt shave) to gain some extra clearance.
Is there a reason I SHOULDN'T grind the D60 gear down? Obviously it's not "as strong" but a D60 is likley way overkill for my XJ.
