I could have swore I had a page open on their site with the updated schedule, now I can't find it.

At the last race in Davis everything was kind of open access to whatever. Looks like the map from last year has all the pit's sectioned off? I could be wrong .. can you roam anywhere in Hammertown with a basic entry pass?
What dude above said about schedule is what I've vaguely gathered. The pass you get is for hammertown and you can wander around anywhere there all week, though you can't drive in (there's a designated fenceline and everyone parks outside of that). As for the rest of the desert, the only other "limited" access areas are big obstacles near hammertown (chocolate, backdoor, sledge, etc) and there's fences to kind of guide you where the course is so you aren't on it; and then remote pits usually have someone at the main access road that tries to keep the average spectator away. Everywhere else is free roam, though you want to make sure you're off the race course.

The retarded thing is you have to pay to know where the course is and get the gps file from CartoTracks or whoever. So be careful if you don't have the course map that you're not on course, the course is "marked" but those get run over or just missing for half the course anyways. If you're not trying to go to a remote location though it's not really needed, where the course loops near hammertown is all pretty obvious.

You should think about Irate flags so we can find other misfits while wandering around.

that's what i was thinking. But it'll be nice to have a day (Thursday) to chill and watch the UTV race, not planning to do/take any photos of that race. The Covid plan is pretty interesting as well. Now I just have to put in my time off request from work and I'll be mostly set to go for the week

Yea fingers crossed there. If it gets to lvl3, possibly even 2, I can see that putting a huge dent in the attendance

if it gets to lvl 3, then yeah, that'll put a dent in things, though I wonder if media folks will be treated as staff and have to get a test. Right now the hospitalization rate for that county (San Bernadino) is trending downwards which is pretty good and if it continues, then it should be ok at lvl 1.

I always thought it was kind of weird the main race wasn't Saturday, seems like that'd boost attendance since a lot of people could take no time/just Friday off and make the main event.

                    Probably to some extent.

I think Friday was a carryover from the early years. Trying to limit the interference/course issues with recreational wheelers/campers coming out for President's Day Weekend. Now that the area is basically "rented/closed" from the BLM for the event, opens the options of racing on Saturday. Plus keeping the crowd around.

My plan is to be out on the desert as a vendor, as long as it is allowed. I was just at the Fort Sage race by VORRA, and the county would not allow vendors/sales. I ended up going to support teams I sponsor and pre-run the course in my car for the fun of it anyway.

I found last years vendor pricing. Obviously subject to change.

We’ll be there of course with the #4659 Comanche and hunting for a finish. We’ve been denied every year but hoping this one might be the year. We’ll be in Hammertown from Jan 28 - Feb 7th. I’ll update once we get our pit slot assigned, feel free to stop by and chat and get some koozies/stickers.

Cool! If I wind up shooting photos this year at KOH, I'll keep an eye open and hopefully get some shots of your rig
