    No air dryer on truck?

So it seems one of my internationals (2005) does not have an air dryer, you know the kind that sneezes every few minutes. Its a tractor.

Same truck but 3 years older has one.

Any reasoning behind this? I thought it was a standard piece of equipment.

    Thanks..

My old international 4370 doesn’t have one either. Manually gotta drain it.

To make the driver drain the air tanks daily....

That's what you get for buying farm equipment that was adapted for highway use.

It's an International, and they don't like to put superfluous equipment on their trucks like air ride seats, shocks and springs, glass to see out of, and other luxury comforts like that.

Check the primary tank and see if its attached to it...

The 2005 truck tractor doesnt have it. The 2002 that was originally cab and chassis has it. Must have been an extra option, like power windows. Stupidity.

At that time it was probably not required on new trucks yet by fmsca. It is now.

So it was an option and as mentioned earlier on a binder everything is an upcharge.

Ac? Sure, you want a condenser, evaporator, drier, lines with that?
Would you like a blower with that?
You want a box around that blower?

They are not that bad I guess, but yeah their standard equipment is not the same as most others, well except for freightliner maybe.

                omg

                pretty much.

but that dt466 is a nice engine, and the 4300/4400 is a nice looking body, so I am stuck.

I just would have guessed its standard eq on anything in the last 20 years, seems not.

Yeah I drained the air tanks daily whether it had a drier or not , they're aren't fool proof you know.

My 2009 F750 did not have a factory installed dryer and it was built by Blue Diamond which should be the same factory as your International. PO had installed a ClearDrain system that gave a short burst every few minutes and completely drained the tanks when shutting off the engine. I hated waiting for the system to pump back up so I removed it and installed a conventional dryer. The battery tray bracket was pre-drilled with the 3 holes to mount the dryer and the truck was pre-wired for the dryer heater. I installed a System Saver dryer and it works great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Dryer-1...IAAOSwDHtfB5Ip

Our 86 pete didnt have one when we bought it. When we started its rebuild we sourced one from a junkyard and just put it in line. One of the best things we did for the humid northeast.
