I served mostly during the “Cold War”, but I did get to do some stuff

13 months in Korea, the end of my tour was spent on the DMZ

A few years later I was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone right after Noriega was evicted, lost a good friend in an ambush right before I came home

Managed to hang on to the flak and Kevlar from my last deployment...was in good with my supply guys. The plate carrier I bought with my own money back in the day, when we could use them
..they changed the rules up later on that. Click image for larger version Name:	20200611_215204.jpg Views:	0 Size:	258.5 KB ID:	36840

I got out in ‘92, but I managed to hang on to a bunch of random TA-50 items. Fast forward 20+ years, my son-in-law needed a couple things before a deployment (He’s in the 10th Mountain Div), I was able to hook him up with stuff I had in storage

ID:	36857 My wedding ring. My grandfather made it during ww2 out of a half dollar. He said they would flatten them out by hitting it with a spoon over and over again. Apparently, he had some downtime. 😊 It was in my safe for years. I wore it on my wedding day, then back in the safe it went.

Unfortunately I tossed pretty much all of my stuff. I was severely disgruntled when I got out.
